DLF IPL now becomes Pepsi IPL :

The latest of the IPL news is that, Pepsi now becomes the new title sponsors for the cash rich cricket league of the world. Yes, from now on it is Pepsi IPL not the DLF IPL. Today, November the 21st, 2012 the Indian Premier League has got a giant sponsor that too one among two of the world's leading soft drink manufacturer Pepsi, the another being Coca-Cola. Pepsi has paid a whopping 396 crore rupees for this sponsorship deal for the next five years, that is up to 2017. So from the next edition of IPL 2013, we can see this substantial change.

Bharti Airtel too was in the race for the bidding but they have come up with 316 crore rupees only. So, Pepsi emerged out to be the winner in this race. IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla confirmed this, the last title sponsor DLF has paid 200 crores for the period 2008-2012. "So far our records of selling various properties of IPL has been very good. We have doubled, tripled or quadrupled the amount while selling some of the properties," Shukla told reporters after the meeting of the IPL governing council.

Deepika Warrier, the executive marketing director of Pepsico beverages, said that she is very happy for the company that has got a part to play a role in Indian Twenty20 cricket. Pepsi is also the prominent sponsors of Pakistan Cricket Board PCB. In fact was their prime sponsor until recently. Things are going well for the IPL board but they should get into their minds soon that people are fed up with too much cricket.
