It's been over more than a dozen years that Pawan Kalyan and director Puri Jagannath has worked together after Badri(2000). On this day October the 18th, 2012, CMGR hits the screens.That was the first film for director Puri Jagannath. Over these past 12 years, Puri has grown as one of the India's most ace directors who is known for completing the movies fast without much delays. Some of his hits include POKIRI, DESAMUDURU, etc.
There is no need for any sort of introduction for POWER STAR Pawan Kalyan. He's in great form after GABBAR SINGH. That is the reason why this movie Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu has got high expectations. Almost every theater or say cinema hall is screening CMGR today , that is the range and stamina of Pawan Kalyan.
THE MOVIE:
Rambabu (Pawan Kalyan) is a mechanic, although he is a mechanic he does his best for the society. The zeal and his passion towards the things that are going on in this society are noticed by Ganga (Tamanna Bhatia). The next thing is she convinces Rambabu to join a TV Channel as a journalist which is owned by Dharmavarapu Subramanyam.
As the film goes unto the next reel, he comes across Jawahar Naidu (Kota Srinivasa Rao) who is an opposition party leader and ex CM and as usual his eyes are set right to get back on that CM chair. His son (Prakash Raj) is a 'villain' and Pawan decides to take on this guy. The fight between Pawan and Prakash turns more fruitful and fierce and at the same time gains massive popularity. Rambabu's path and means to stop Prakash Raj taking the throne is the rest of the story. Oh wait, hold your horses ! The verdict is out and who won in that petty battle should be watched out on the screens and the remaining reels of story is the ACTUAL cream of Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu !!
Did Prakash Raj gain the throne and misused his power to destroy Pawan ? or did Pawan win and that obviously made a half-mad Prakash a complete evil ? Or were there some other spice added in between is all to be watched out at your nearest theaters !! :)
There is no second guess that the first and foremost highlight of Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu is PAWAN KALYAN itself ! As always his presence on the screen it self is the biggest bang on the screen.
Puri Jagannath's dialogues worked out very well and some of them are like straight sharp arrows on current Political situations in our state. Tamanna looks gorgeous. Prakash Raj, Kota, Nasser (who played as CM Reddy) are good in their parts. Brahmanandam and Ali as creative heads make up the comedy for this movie. Tanikella Bharani is okay.
If you ask me which is better, first half or the second. Hands down to the second half. Second half is the heart of this movie. Chemistry between Pawan and Tamanna worked out well. Mani Sharma's back ground score is good. Cinematography is fine all the way. Fights also are in sync with Pawan's style.
Now coming to the minus points, the editing for the total first half is not at all good. Entertainment in the first half is less in terms of screen space and time. It could have been better. Songs are not good and unlike Gabbar Singh, CMGR's audio didn't go into the masses. As a TV Channel boss, Gabreila is unwanted and irritating. There are some unwanted scenes in this movie, one wouldn't understand why they are for. This is all about Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu Movie Review. The plot is poor, a no story movie but all that are overcome with Pawan Kalyan's presence and Puri Jagan's pen !
This is a decent one for those who are interested in Politics. They are the repeat audience and if am not wrong the only repeat audience who will be for this movie apart from fans. For masses and other sects, it is a good one time watch. You wouldn't be bored for long at any place.
